Today, April 22, 2011, is a day known internationally as Earth Day.  Those environmentally conscious individuals who push green, recycle and all the other save the planet stuff seem to have a desire to worship nature on this day.  Don’t get me wrong, being kind to nature is a great thing and not polluting should be taught world-wide but worshiping nature and saving the planet is a very radical idea.  As radical of an idea as avoiding hygienic products and letting nature and gravity take its course when a woman has her menstrual cycle.   For the love of God please stop the insanity.   If you plant a tree, clean a dirty shoreline, help maintain an endangered species, smoke a cigarette away from a crowd not to bother others, or change the muffler of your car to help the environment, that’s great!  Being a good steward of your surroundings is something we should all be.  Now if you believe that global warming and our disregard for the rights of nature, especially all the poor little animals will destroy the planet, oh yeah, and that humans are bad to nature’s continued existence, then you concern me.  If you believe plastics need to be stopped and you recycle your own products at home because the fate of our global existence is in your hands, seek psychological help.

Today is also, Good Friday, the Friday before resurrection Sunday.  This is the time of year known in some communities as Easter or Passover.

For the Earth Day worshipers let me say the only green that really matters to those pushing the green agenda is the green known as money, billons in green agenda dollars.

Do not believe the arrogance that as humans we can save the planet.  News flash, the planet can survive without our help.  But kindness to it is admirable.

The only person that can save us from ourselves or save the planet from the cesspool of human disgraceful actions is Christ Jesus.

Stop the deitising of nature and naturalizing of God.

Mother Nature does not deserve to be worshiped.  She should be respected and cared for like all other things we are blessed with.  The notion that we should in some shape or form pay homage to the environment is ridiculous.  We should be “good stewards” of our resources and not allow ourselves to idolize people, places or things.  Building character not our materialistic view of the world, which includes the environment, would benefit the earth more than trying to save it.
